Texas Marijuana Laws
For reasons unknown to me the Texas Criminal Code refers to pot as "marihuana". Texas Health and Safety Code 481.121 states that "a person commits an offense if the person knowingly or intentionally possesses a usable quantity of marihuana." Possession is a serious offense. Punishment ranges from probation to life in prison (over 2,000lbs). Texas has no medical marijuana defense to prosecution.
